IEEE BHTC 2024

SDG 14

Life Below Water

Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine

resources for sustainable development.

Overview of the Event

IEEE B-HTC 2024 (IEEE Conference ID: 60740) is a premier annual cross disciplinary conference that brings together technologists, engineers, scientists and investors as well as representatives from NGOs, government, academia, and the industry. The conference aims at promoting research and development on “Sustainable Development Goal 14: Life Below Water” to use technology to conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development. The world’s oceans – their temperature, chemistry, currents and life – drive global systems that make the Earth habitable for humankind. How we manage this vital resource is essential for humanity as a whole, and to counterbalance the effects of climate change. Over three billion people depend on marine and coastal biodiversity for their livelihoods. Oceans also absorb about 30 percent of the carbon dioxide produced by humans, and we are seeing a 26 percent rise in ocean acidification since the beginning of the industrial revolution. Marine pollution, an overwhelming majority of which comes from land-based sources, is reaching alarming levels, with an average of 13,000 pieces of plastic litter to be found on every square kilometer of ocean.

The SDGs aim to sustainably manage and protect marine and coastal ecosystems from pollution, as well as address the impacts of ocean acidification. Enhancing conservation and the sustainable use of ocean-based resources through international law will also help mitigate some of the challenges facing our oceans.

B-HTC 2024 will have plenary talks, keynote addresses by eminent experts, research paper presentations, events for Women in Engineering and Young Professionals, sessions on entrepreneurship and innovation, Industry exhibits and booths.

B- HTC 2024 will be held at NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte, Karkala, India from 22nd-23rd March, 2024 We are delighted to announce that the IEEE Mangalore subsection and the Bangalore Section are co-hosting this prestigious conference.

Guidelines to Authors

Below are some useful instructions to assist the authors to submit their papers for BHTC 2024

Papers submitted to BHTC 2024 shall contain original work by the author(s) that have not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere. The IEEE anti- plagiarism policy is applicable to all submissions. The author(s) are solely responsible for any plagiarized submission.

Paper Submission: All papers are required to be prepared and submitted in the IEEE Standard two –column conference format of A4 size in English. Papers must be four to six pages in length, including texts, Figures, photographs and references. The names of the authors, their affiliations should not be included as part of the paper (as double blind review will be followed). All these details to be entered only in the CRC submission. Please do not include page numbers on submitted documents. Failing to conform to the standard format will result in rejection. Detailed format information is available on the IEEE Website.

The authors are required to use the standard IEEE manuscript template for conferences. The Microsoft Word or Latex template can be downloaded from IEEE conference template page: Click here (conference-template-a4.docx / conference-latex-template_10-17-19.zip)

NOTE: The paper shall consist of original and previously unpublished work, including specific results. The ‘Introduction’ of the paper shall clearly indicate the unique aspects of the submission and how it is related to the previous work.

All paper submissions must be electronic, using IEEE Xplore compliant PDF format (*.pdf). Failure to do so may result in the rejection of the paper. The detailed template for paper submission can be found here

Type 3 fonts (bitmaps) will not be accepted. Authors can use the IEEE PDF eXpress to generate compliant PDF Files for final submission and details for the same would be shared after the review process with all the authors.

Paper Upload: All papers must be submitted in PDF or as a Microsoft Word Document via Microsoft Conference Management Toolkit : Click here

The submitting authors may be required to create a Microsoft Conference Management Toolkit account before uploading the paper (if the submitting author does not have a Microsoft Conference Management Toolkit account).
